Hi, I'm Rosie 👋

🧪 I’m a qualified Science teacher (BSc, PGCE, PGDE and working towards my MEd) and have full enhanced DBS and safeguarding training.

👩‍🏫 I’ve been teaching Science for 18 years now and I absolutely love it!

I worked in schools in London, Bristol and Devon for 17 years teaching Science and was also Head of Science and an Assistant Head responsible for Teaching and Learning.

I examine for a number of different GCSE and IGCSE exam boards and have been running my tuition business full time for the last two years.

🌊 A bit more about me, I live in Devon with my 2 kids and husband and I LOVE swimming in the sea whatever the weather!

💚 I love working with teenagers, I love their curiosity about the world around them and I love that science gets to answer these questions for them!

I am absolutely committed to all students having access to a brilliant science education so that they can become life long learners able to make their own exciting discoveries about the world.

FAQ

  • What exactly do I get when I join?

Your teen gets access to pre-recorded lessons covering the entire GCSE Science curriculum (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), a private community space where they can ask questions anytime, weekly pep talks from me, exam technique videos, and revision strategy tips. Everything they need is in one place.

  • How is this different from just watching YouTube videos?

YouTube is great for quick explanations, but it's random. You're never sure if you've covered everything or if the person teaching actually knows what examiners want. GCSE Science Success Hub is structured around the actual GCSE specification, taught by an examiner who marks real papers. Plus, when your teen gets stuck, they can actually ask me. You can't do that with a YouTube video.

  • Can my teen ask you questions directly?

Yes. They can post questions in the community space and I answer them regularly throughout the week. It's not instant like a live lesson, but it's reliable support when they need it.

  • What exam boards does this cover?

The lessons cover content that appears across all major exam boards (AQR, Edexcel, OCR). The core science is the same everywhere. Where there are specific differences, I point them out.

  • My teen is in Year 10. Is it too early to join?

Not at all. Actually, it's the perfect time. They can learn topics properly as they go through them at school, rather than cramming everything at the last minute. The content is there whenever they're ready for it.

  • What if my teen is in Year 11 and exams are coming up fast?

Then they need this even more. They get immediate access to everything, so they can focus on their weak topics right away. The exam technique videos alone will help them pick up marks they're currently losing.

  • How much time will my teen need to spend on this each week?

That's completely up to them. Some students watch one lesson a week alongside their school work. Others binge content when they're revising. There's no requirement. They use it however works for them.

  • Is this live teaching or pre-recorded?

The lessons are pre-recorded, which means your teen can watch them whenever suits them. Pausing, rewinding, watching at 9pm before an exam - all fine. The weekly pep talks are also pre-recorded but released weekly to keep everyone moving forward together.

  • What if my teen doesn't like being part of online communities?

They don't have to be active in the community if that's not their thing. They can just watch the lessons and use the resources. But the option is there when they need help, which most students find reassuring.

FAQ part 2

  • Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No contracts, no commitments. You pay month by month and can cancel whenever you want.

  • How long do we need to subscribe for?

As long as it's useful. Some families join for a few months during revision. Others stay the whole way through Years 10 and 11. It's up to you.

  • What happens to our access if we cancel?

Your access continues until the end of your billing period, then it stops. If you rejoin later, everything is still there.

  • I have more questions. How do I ask them?

Email me at [email protected]. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

“My son made use of Rosie’s great “Night Before” revision sessions for his GCSE Science exams. The sessions were packed with information and guidance for the exams and he found them a great way to finish off his revision and be totally ready for the exam the next day. It was easy to book and Rosie was friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Highly recommend!”

Claire, parent of Y11 student from 23-24

“Would highly recommend Rosie. She supported my son -Y11 with GCSE prep. He has found her sessions so helpful - there has been a distinct improvement not only in his grades but also his confidence and enthusiasm for the subjects. He really benefitted from the small group setting which I think for him felt less pressurised and intense than a one to one. Rosie has these classes set up in such a way that the atmosphere is supportive and inclusive. What stands out aside from quality of teaching is Rosie’s organised professional approach - this is not a side hustle . Rosie is highly committed, sessions are fully resourced, communication with myself and son is amazing. Thanks so much Rosie.”

Claire, parent of current Y10 student and former Y11 student 23-24

Uzma, parent of Y11 student 23-24

“Rosie stepped in at a time when our granddaughter was missing a lot of school because of illness. With exam time looming and stress levels rising Rosie took the time to go through everything calmly and methodically with the result that our granddaughter was able to approach the exams in a positive and confident manner. Rosie works so hard, putting together carefully structured learning sessions and recorded content for revision and I have no hesitation in recommending her.”
